Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2025 Rebel 500 in India. The bike is available at a price of Rs. 5.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), and bookings have begun through BigWing topline dealerships. Deliveries will begin in June 2025. The Rebel 500 blends modern engineering with cutting-edge design to offer a unique riding experience for Indian motorcycle enthusiasts.
According to an official source at Honda, the chairman and CEO, Mr. Tsutsunu Otani, said that this cruiser motorcycle has received a tremendous response in the international markets, and we believe that Indian riders will also like it. The Rebel 500 is not just a motorcycle; its style is a symbol of performance and freedom. With its unique design, strong performance, and reliable engineering from Honda, we believe that it will be liked by both experienced and emerging riders across the country.
Design & Styling: The Rebel 500 makes its first appearance in India with an authentic straight custom style that beautifully blends sophisticated design with superior engineering. The design of the Honda Rebel 500 is absolutely different; it is neither a full-faired sports bike nor a heavy tourer. It is a low-slung bobber-style cruiser that is instantly recognizable for its simple yet aggressive look.
The all-black round LED headlight and minimal bodywork give it a classic but modern look. Its design is custom-friendly, i.e., the seat, handlebar, and other parts can be easily changed as per your requirements. Overall, the Rebel 500 is one such bike that likes simplicity in appearance but has a revolutionary style hidden in it.
It will be available in India only as a standard variant in single matte gunpowder black metallic color. The Rebel is designed as a flat motorcycle with a seat height of just 690 mm, which makes it easy to ride and easy to control at low speeds. There will be seats for both rider and pillion. Apart from the signature stippled fuel tank and thick handlebars, it is recognizable from every angle. The Rebel 500 also gets an all-LED lighting system along with the signature round headlight.

Engine & Performance: The Honda Rebel 500 is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 8-valve, liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 34 kWf at 8500 RPM and a peak torque of 43.3 Nm at 6000 RPM. This premium powertrain is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that delivers comfortable handling on city streets and highways alike. Matching its cruiser sound system, the character of the Rebel's powertrain is centered on the torque-heavy bottom-end output that has a smooth and linear delivery throughout the rev range. Plus, its stubby exhaust provides a perfect cruiser soundtrack.
This is the same engine that is used in bikes like Honda's CBR500R, but in the Rebel it has been tuned for a bit of cruiser style, i.e., power delivery is smoother and you get more low-end torque, making it easier to drive in the city as well as cruise on the highway. The engine of the Rebel 500 offers a great balance between performance and refinement.
Features: In the Honda Rebel 500, modern technology has been perfectly combined with classic looks. It has full LED lighting; the headlight, taillight, and indicators are all LED. Their new generation digital instrument console gives important information like your speed, fuel level, and trip meter. It has a slipper and assist clutch, which makes gear shifting smooth and gives comfort while riding. Along with this, it also has ABS, which ensures safe braking. The entire design and features of the Rebel 500 have been made in such a way that the bike looks simple but does not lag behind in any need, an excellent combination of style, technology, and safety.
Brakes & suspension: The Rebel 500 features telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear, which ensure comfortable and controlled riding. Braking responsibility is handled by a 296mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, along with dual-channel ABS for better safety. Dunlop tires are fitted as standard with 130/90-16 front and 150/80-16 rear wheels. In terms of features, the Rebel 500 is equipped with an ultra LCD display that provides clear relief of essential information while adding a touch of modernity to the classic styling of the cruiser.
