Introduction: The Honda Dio 4g was one of the most stylish scooters in India when it launched. This scooter is popular primarily among the youngsters. The company launched Dio in India over a decade back,and it can be said India's first moto scooter in real sense. But in 2025, with so many new options available, is it still worth Buying in 2025? Design & Features: The Dio 4g features a sporty and aggressive design, making it popular among youngsters. It has sharp body panels, dual-tone color options and analog speedometer for Honda Dio. Honda launched the edition of the scooter with BS-IV engine and some really attractive graphics that makes it stand out from the rest. The all-black theme of the scooter indeed offers it a bad boy image as against the traditional sober image of automatic scooters generally found in the Indian two-wheeler market. This scooter has been fitted with a 5.3 litre fuel tank and has a total kerb weight of 103 kg. The Dio also receives a maintenance free Battery that proves less hefty on the pocket.

Engine, Mileage & Performance: The Honda Dio gets power from a 109cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to an automatic transmission system. The Honda Dio achieves a top speed of 83 km/h and returns a claimed fuel economy of 50km/l. The scooter also gets an easy electric starter for the convenience of the rider.

Handling & Ride Quality: The Honda Dio has been fitted with 130mm drum brakes at both ends. These further come linked to the company's combi braking system (CBS) in order to ensure less chances of skidding.The suspension system of the Honda Dio comprises of bottom link type unit up front along with spring assisted hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The Honda Dio rides on 90/100 sized front and rear tyres that come mounted over 10 inch steel wheels. The ride quality of the Honda Dio is quite satisfactory and the scooter feels easy and quick to maneuver in traffic.

While the Dio 4g is a great scooter, honda has launched newer models like the Dio BS6 with fuel injection, LED lights, and better performance. the bigger problem is got to find body parts it is very difficult to find the parts of the Dio 4g. if you are looking for a budget-friendly second-hand scooter, the Dio 4g is still a solid choice, but if you want the latest features, the newer models might be a better investment.

Ride or Comfort: The ride of the Honda Dio 4G was quite comfortable, especially in small pots and it handles well even on bad roads.
  • There was no telescopic suspension but the balancing was excellent.
  • Due to its lightweight body, the scooter is very fun to drive in the city and is easy.
  • The scooter felt quite nimble to ride.

Final verdict: If you prioritize a sporty look, lightweight handling, and Honda's reliability. The Dio 4g is still a good option. However, if you want the latest tech and better braking, you should consider honda Dio Bs6 or TV's NTorq 125.
